GEMA CASTAÑO RODRÍGUEZ
I am a licensed health psychologist with experience in both public and private practice in Spain, France and Haiti. I specialize in the treatment of trauma, both simple and complex, using reprocessing and integration techniques. In my sessions, I combine verbal therapy with brainspotting.
I work from a humanistic and holistic approach, incorporating techniques and strategies from different theoretical models into the therapeutic process. Having lived in different countries, I understand the difficulties associated with the processes of migratory grief. I conduct individual sessions with adults and adolescents, couple therapy, and mediation processes, in both Spanish and French.
For me, therapy is a shared process between the therapist and the patient, where the professional, from a presence of empathy and non-judgment, accompanies the psychological and emotional processes, respecting the pace and needs of the other.
One of my great passions is traveling the world. These experiences that I share with my partner and children have allowed me to learn to adapt to different contexts and cultures, which I then apply in my therapy sessions, where I maintain that spirit of interest in discovering the universe of the other.
MARGARITA TORUÑO
I am a licensed health psychologist. I started my psychotherapeutic practice in 2004. I have worked in the public and private sector. In the public sector I have worked for many years in specific institutions for families and children. Since 2019, I have been psychotherapeutically accompanying refugees, that had to abandon their life project due to different circumstances: wars, political persecution, gender-based violence, violence due to sexual orientation or identity and displaced refugees. In this field, I accompany difficult processes of mourning, migratory mourning, trauma, anxiety, loneliness, etc.
In the private practice I work with children, adolescents, adults and families. For me, psychotherapy offers a safe space, where the person feels confident to explore their inner world and their discomfort in the company and in a close relationship with the psychotherapist. Therapy also adapts to the particularity of each person, taking into account their culture, their vision of the world, their rhythm and their processes in order to adapt to their needs.
Trained in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, systemic psychotherapy, counselling and family mediation, I have completed several trainings from different theoretical perspectives that help me to have an open vision and a solid theory that guides my practice. I provide psychotherapy in English and Spanish.
I enjoy spending time with my family, my three children, my partner, our dog and our two cats, going on adventurous trips, spending days in the countryside, hanging out with friends, reading a good book or writing a story. I love animals and nature.
MARCOS BÖCKER
I am a licensed health psychologist with more than 20 years of experience in the field of Mental Health, in the private sector, the third sector and as head of projects (mental health, loneliness, intergenerational) in coordination with different public administrations. I have also given courses in venues such as La Casa Encendida and in several public universities in Madrid and I have collaborated as a tutor for undergraduate and master’s degree students in Psychology for the UCM and the University of Murcia.
I work from a contextual model that understands psychological and emotional distress as a result of life’s own tensions, losses and conflicts. I understand psychotherapy as a special relationship of trust, stimulating and safe in which to generate new approaches to problems and coping strategies to be better with oneself and one’s environment and to make decisions according to one’s values. I take a scientific approach to my profession, following closely the new models of intervention and the new forms that mental health problems are taking nowadays. I enjoy reading, travelling to hidden villages with family and friends and setting myself new projects.
