SERVCES

We have over 25 years of continuous training in different therapeutic methodologies, allowing us to adapt the approach and techniques to your personal situation. We offer you a professional and respectful space where you can address your concerns, difficulties and goals.

Throughout life, there may be doubts, questions, conflicts, or losses that require a great effort on our part. It may happen that in that process, we feel overwhelmed and without a way out, leading to emotional distress, anxiety, fatigue or apathy. Psychological therapy helps you to have a better understanding of what is happening to you and to adopt new approaches and tools to overcome your emotional problems, improve your interpersonal relationships and enjoy life more.

We treat problems of anxiety, depression, grief, difficulties in relating to others, self-esteem issues, eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, obesity), trauma, sexual abuse, violence, or mistreatment, etc. Sessions are conducted in Spanish, English, and French, both in-person and online.

Adolescence is a time of change that affects relationships with peers, family and oneself. The transition from childhood to adulthood involves profound transformations that require various personal strategies and resources to adapt to the new scenarios in which they find themselves. In the effort to respond to the new situations faced by the adolescent, risky behaviors, feelings of loneliness and inadequacy may appear. Some of the problems that may arise during this period are: Depression, aggressive and defiant behaviors. Anxiety, intrusive thoughts and fears. Self-harm. Problems with food due to excess or deficiency. Demotivation in studies, isolation, bullying and difficulties in relationships with peers.

Through psychotherapy, the adolescent reaches a better understanding of the situation they are going through. During the sessions, psychological tools are applied to help them resolve internal conflicts and improve their relationships with others, both with their peers and with adults. The sessions are conducted in Spanish, English, and French, both in-person and online. Sessions are conducted in Spanish, English, and French, both in-person and online.

Generally, a child is brought to the consultation at the request of their mother and/or father, who are concerned about some difficulty that the child is experiencing. It could be related to their school life, relationships with peers, behavior at home, fears that prevent them from sleeping, jealousy over the birth of a sibling, difficulties caused by the separation of their parents or a new family situation or their complete dependence on an adult figure. In addition, they may be brought because of a diagnosis given by another professional, for a physical or mental illness.

From the perspective in which we work, boys and girls have the same right as adults to be heard, respected and understood in their particularity, attending to their distress through play, drawing and talking. It may happen that what worries the parents is not the same as what worries the child. It is important to respect the child’s work, where they can unfold their difficulties and answer their questions, as they will have to find their own answer that helps them overcome or assume their difficulty.

Couples therapy is indicated in cases where conflicts are repeated and after having tried to solve them on their own, the members of the couple conclude that they need an external perspective and a safe space to undertake a different dialogue. Couples mainly seek therapy for issues related to poor communication, but other issues may also arise, such as jealousy, infidelity, decision-making in the face of important life changes, lack of desire or difficulties in sexual relations, conflicts with extended family, difficulty in raising children, etc. Through couples therapy, people learn to listen to each other in a different way, acquire tools for respectful communication and conflict resolution, better understand the problem they are going through, reach important agreements on shared parenting, establish priorities, learn to give themselves individual and joint space, as well as make difficult decisions. Couples therapy sessions are conducted in Spanish, English, and French, both in-person and online.

Family mediation is a technique for managing and resolving problems or conflicts within a family. The necessary condition to start a mediation process is the willingness of the participants and their desire to reach a better understanding among themselves. The mediator`s objective is to offer a neutral space, where the parties are able to listen to each other and communicate differently, in order to resolve the conflicts that have arisen. Family or couples mediation is also a specific tool of great utility in cases of separation or divorce, to jointly develop the regulatory agreement (visitation schedule, child support, separation of property, etc.) and to be able to ratify it later in court. It has been proven that regulatory agreements made by mutual agreement in a mediation process help the emotional stability of the couple`s children, to better process the changes, to formalize in a respectful manner the end of a meaningful relationship and maintaining responsible communication between adults. The mediation process is developed respecting a structure of 8 to 10 sessions with a duration of 60 minutes each. Mediation sessions are held in Spanish, French, and English, both in- person and online.

We have extensive experience in online psychotherapy. The virtual modality has a theoretical foundation and recognized empirical validity, with the same levels of effectiveness as face-to- face psychotherapy. The sessions are structured in the same way as face-to-face therapy, making the same techniques and tools available to the patient.

Online psychotherapy offers the possibility of continuing the therapeutic process in the event of a change of address or situation (illness, maternity, etc.) that prevents the patient from attending the consultation in person. Likewise, this modality allows us to attend to Spanish-speaking people around the world, who wish to carry out their therapeutic process in their mother tongue. We offer psychotherapy in Spanish, English, and French.

Supervision is an instrument for professional improvement; it is a space where expert professionals can confront what they do and what they are learning, from the respect and support of their own team. The supervisor enters this space as an instrument to investigate, mediate, articulate, and agree on a joint intervention for the well-being of the users as well as for the working environment of the professionals. In multidisciplinary teams, different knowledge, different schools of thought, and sometimes different objectives come into conflict with each other. So-called multidisciplinary work, where each person intervenes according to their discipline and their knowledge, can be transformed into networking, i.e. organizing the network on the basis on the central place taken by the orientation of the work towards the users and the questions that it raises in the various professionals. This choice favors another type of link between professionals, more focused on having a permanent conversation about the work with the users and their questions. A conversation that is not based on professional rivalries, but on the openness of the question about the case. The model used in supervision acts as a compass for professionals, as it is based on trust in the specific inventions of the various agents in the network: families, users, professionals, and external resources (educational, health, administrative, legal, etc.). The user is not a passive subject of our intervention, but rather becomes the main agent of their own story. The collective effort is focused on creating, among all, a new pragmatic action that emphasizes what the user is capable of inventing, in their solutions, rather than what does not work. This action also leads to greater confidence in the action of each of the people who intervene with the user, both the professionals and the people who are significant for the user. Here, the idea of well-being and mental health is linked to the resources that the user can put into action and to the support function that the network of which we are a part can represent for them.
